All your credit goes down the drain. And it does not go away for seven years. And some even take longer. You hap to start totally over. And rebuild your credit. Which is hard to do.

You will have to get the bankruptcy discharged, no doubt about it. You might find a willing landlord to rent to you, but a bank will not even consider a loan if the bk is open. My advise to you is to get the bk discharged as soon as possible and visit a credible credit counselor to work with you on getting your credit back on track.

It is a general rule within the industry, that we do not work with anybody with an open BK. It has to be closed and usually nobody will work with you until after you re establish which is a 2 yr time frame.

I’ve heard it can take upwards of 3 years before you might be considered for another loan. Which makes sense. So work on all your other credit in the meantime to improve your score.
